I think a lot of people run a filter like this ..and for nanos that particular one...for doing weekly cleanings. For that it is a great idea, constant use though will have the pitfall that mynd suggested.

Of course MikeM solved your problem ;). Yes your tank is naturally going to have nutrients. Some is good, acts as coral food, snail food etc. But too much is bad. If the rocks had a lot of hair algae on them then likely you have a lot of trapped detritus. That can and likely will cause you to...

Mine is in the lower middle T5. Growning like crazy actually. They are maybe the coolest IMO coral to watch feed. So wish you good luck.

Yes I think you should because they are going to add nutients to your tank. Get it off and try to put the rock to cure for a while in the dark would be my suggestion.

24 hrs is not a really long time...have you tried spot feeding it?

Yes it will help. You could well be right Bob...I also know it smelled like garlic...used in conjuction with other forms of treatment for a short period.

I tried the pull it out method eventually it beat me....try the hydrogen peroxide after getting as much as possible off use an eye dropper maybe. It can and likely will choke out your coral.

I do the hyposalinity route in my QT. Feed with selcon added to food. Garlic also is in a lot of the nori sheets ect already. There is also a RidIck something like that which is basically a mega dose of garlic for the tank(from the smell of it).

Looks good. Two suggestions. 1 Get rid of the bryopsis(sp)(pic6) I would tear it out and try hydrogen peroxide or something or raising your mag. In a nano or any tank it can become terror. 2 Did you think of using one of the rotating wavemakers instead of the locline? Would be less obtrusive.

Take NJ transit to path to downtown. Work M-F so shipping is difficult other then Saturday and then it is in transit for days so not really great.
