Bad; ammonia and nitrate spike of unknown origin (ammonia.5 nitrate 60)
Worse; I don't have any water to do a change.

All other tests are right on wheir they belong
3 of 8 stonies dont have thir usual full polyps this could be reason yes?
Here is a pic of the one I have. Is there a way to tell if it is male or female, and what else do i need to make sure of (other than captive bred) before getting another? I don't want a fight in my tank and only wind up with only one anyway.
How much water do you go through? I have a fan to pull heat out of my canopy from the halides, and my temp stays in the 78-79 degree range. I go through about 2 gallons a day, seems like a lot to me. How can I cut this down?
I have read most of you with more experience than myself have almost a ritual to making your water. I see most of you use ro/di and mix in salt(this i get) then you let it sit for 24 hours with a powerhead (why) then heat and serve?
Anyone know what this is? Thought it was supposed to be an active coral (polyps and whatnot) but I haven't seen a thing.... ideas? So far it's just sitting there housing the tiny crabs taht came with it
I've seen plenty of pictures of numerous tanks and have visited people with some pristine tanks and I want to know what you do to keep your glass so clean and free of algae. Even when the corals are too close to the glass to clean them with a hand scraper, the glass still seems to be so clean...
Now that I have my new halides running, thought I'd post a pic to watch the progression. Here's the newest pic:
It came out a lot bluer than it really is, obviously.
Will 2 year old halides cause a brown algae to form on the sand bed? My parameters where good last i checked 4 days ago and will again today. I will post them after.
I have a set of single end 10,000k coralife bulbs that are over a year old and i bought same bulb from ushio turned them on and they went out after about 10 seconds. I put old bulbs back and they work fine.
175w single end 10,000k only visually difference is new bulbs have slightly smaller...
I live in a small apartment, no place for a full sized unit.
