I just recently (about a month ago) flooded my kitchen with RO/DI water.
Bad thing is, i'm on the 2nd floor of an apartment building with a wood subframe only... no concrete, and wood floor in the kitchen. It seeped down into the apartment below me and caused the whole kitchen wall to fall off...
Hey guys, so i'm a little late in posting this journal.

The tank inhabitants so far are:

do you have this system coupled with a conventional hvac system? how do you cool your house on a cloudy day?
Do the solar panels charge a generator or huge capacitor?
I have heard the opposite about the picking, that angels pick pick pick in one spot until it's gone, then move on.
I've still got some time before i have to decide on final stocking. Thanks for the input.
Boo pittsburgh.
quick question for stocking.
Anyone keeping foxface rabbitfish, could you advise on reef compatibility if well fed?
I know they are generally docile fish, and have read that if you keep them fed, will keep nipping of corals to a minimum.
Also, I am looking into a coral beauty if given the...
how is your yellow tang doing in that tank?
I thought tangs required long tanks since they like to swim fast and pick algae off of rock. Yours looks pretty small still though, and happy!
hey, so far so good.
I'm in the same predicament as you, being that I am renting for at least 1 more year, but i couldn't wait any longer so here I am building a 90 gallon...
They make thinner plywood than 3/4". Maybe not in birch though.
I would definitely try painting it first. You will probably have to sand it by hand though, which is going to suck.
I am going to by painting my stand black to match the trim of the tank I have... plus black is cool looking in...
also, depending on where you live (i live in philly). Alot of our pipes are copper which then gets in the water. Copper is deadly to inverts, so your shrimp could die from tap water.
over on fishforums.net, i have seen several members take their rock out and use a torch or creme brulee lighter to burn them off. dangerous, yet effective.
I read some of the articles and they were well written. Would have been helpful, but I have been a member of fishforums.net for quite some time and just recently found out about this site from my LFS... so i had done the majority of research prior to joining.
I have a 716W lightstrip with 2x...
I plan to build a mixed reef with LPS, SPS maybe a clam, who knows!

mandarin in the far future of course
watchman goby
Hey guys,
I'm new to the site. Heard about you from a guy who works at Value Pet and aquarium center in Pennsauken. I live in Philadelphia and am in the process of building a 90 gallon reef tank.
I have some experience in salt and loads of experience in freshwater.
if you fancy yourself a handyman or woman, you could make one yourself.
I have a 90 gallon that I made a 30 gallon sump. Just bought a cheap 30 gallon long off of craigslist, went to lowes and had them cut 4 partitions out of 3/8" plexi. Total cost was about 45 bucks.
