I have a 175g tank that is leaking. I resealed one corner but it is leaking from the bottom edges in four places. I figure what needs to happen is the panels need to be separated and completely resealed, it would probably just be a bandaid to just replace the silicon on the inside of the tank...
For the sump, I am planning on a diy from a 40 gal breeder. Any suggestions on the type of place I should be looking at to get glass cut to size for dividers? I am assuming that glass would be easier to work with than acrylic dividers b/c the silicon will work with glass.
The sump pumps out into the woods. No issue with vegetation, no sewers in my neck of the woods in Sussex County. I am just concerned about corrosion in the pump itself.
It is an exterior wall that I would have to cut into. The floor is hardwood, so I was thinking I would take out a plank if...
The way I was visualizing the water change tank was that the water would flow from the DT to the WC tank then through the sump. Thus if the WC tank was a bit higher, with more head, that would also flow to the sump.
My problem with going through the wall is that there would be insulation, plus...
I am upgrading big time, but am definitely a newbie. I currently have a 29g reef tank that I have discussed here previously but am looking to go bigger. The plan is to have a reef tank in the living room and have the plumping go through the floor to the unfinished basement below. In the...
Yeah, I think I have some of those as well. I was thinking talapia too since we had that for dinner the other night, only it was after my wife breaded it and cooked it. Oh well, next time.
Just an update. I have added a BT anemone and it appears that my mojano infestation is over. I used a combination of lemon juice and tweezers to eradicate them.
My plan for this weekend is to attach some of my new frags onto the rock structure. Right now I have the frag mounts sitting on...
I am just going to keep him where he is. I fed him some mysis shrimp last night using chop sticks. It worked out fairly well. Any suggestions for other things I should feed him?
I a, feeling much better, because it appears that my anemone is doing much better. He looks good now but still hiding in the corner. He was shrinking, mouth agap. While at work today he looks more normal and moved slightly upward. I plan on feeding him some brine shrimp tonight.
So, the consensus is to just let him be... Ok thanks. I have read about people hurting the foot trying to move it so I was wary about it to begin with.
So, my new BTA is hiding in the corner where the lighting is poor. I am hesitant to move him myself, but will he move on his own up the rock structure to the better light when he feels like it?
I just added a frogspawn and some zoo fragments, wow is that frogspawn gorgeous! My son thought he was glowing in the blue light. As of now I placed his mount in the sand away from other things. The flow may be a bit too high on the rocks. I got my camera out to take some pics and the light...
I used a syringe to inject 0.5ml of concentrated lemon juice on the majano and 24 hrs later, no more Majano with no measurable change in pH. It appears that I successfully eliminated 4 anemones.
Majano Anemone
I saw some degradation in my yellow polyps so I moved them and I have found three anemones attached to the rock. They look very much like Majano, so I guess it's eradication time.
ok... so you guys thing I should take it out now instead of waiting until it gets a bit bigger at which point I may have a more definitive idea of what it is? How big does it need to be before it will start spreading out of control?
