Everything I have seen in the few years I have done this leads me to believe the largest problem for most reefers is nutrient in, vs nutrient out. Obviously coral need some nutrients beyond what lights can supply, but aren't we creating our own problems by dumping fish food in coral tanks...

What would you suggest my turnover rate should be in a 30G cube with a 10G sump? My return pump is getting noisy, and it was cheap 2 years ago ($40). I'm also of the opinion that more flow "may" benefit the tank, hopefully reduce cyano? Thoughts?

I've read that calk can be used to cull back fast growing palys, either with a paste, or by injecting them. Where does one get a syringe to do this? or when smothering, how do you mix/apply it? I wanted to start adding calk to my top ff water anyway and figured I'd use it to thin the play...
