    Aptasia help

I spent the money on nudis when this happened to me and they didn't make a dent. Added 5 peppermint shrimp and medium size file fish. Nothing at first - then in about a 3 day span they were all gone.

120g Into the Sea -- My First Saltwater Build

Ok! It's been awhile and its long past time for an update! Cycling has been a whirlwind -- I have been stable for a couple weeks now and got through my first big diatom bloom. I used a combination of BRS techniques and some tips from Reef Builders to get the cycle going at warp speed. It...

    Testing - Strips vs Liquid

So as I'm getting my new 120g tank cycled I have a question for you my wise reefing friends: Are tetra test strips as effective for saltwater as they are in freshwater? I did extensive testing with my freshwater tank overtime between the big API Master Test Kit and the Tetra 6 in 1/ammonia test...

120g Into the Sea -- My First Saltwater Build

Update! So I went to bed last night with a timer to get up and make sure that my float valve and auto shutoff worked given it's all newly setup. Then I awoke to the birds and sunlight this morning in a panic realizing I had slept through the night. Ran down to the basement sure I would find it...

120g Into the Sea -- My First Saltwater Build

The overflow is the only area big enough for the 2 eheim heaters. They're soooooo long and the baffles in the sump make it so they can't lie down. :(

120g Into the Sea -- My First Saltwater Build

Alright -- the plumbing is cemented and drying. Fingers crossed. Also, found a nice guy on FB marketplace who got out of salt and into freshwater to reduce his maintenance. I was able to pick up the last of the dry rock I needed AND a MP30 reactor! That was something I was not planning on being...
