It's not deep enough for the plenum to work. You also need a thick layer of sand on top of the mesh screen to make a plenum. Sean

You can get the 20K or even the 22.5K rated AquaMedic MH if you really want to push for more blue. But coral growth rate may suffer. Sean

You'd better pay attention to them before it's out of control. I had a lot in my tank before and I found they prefer to stay at the bottom of Acros. And normally I can find dead spot where mini stars aggregate. I am not sure if the mini stars make the dead spot on Acros, or they just like to...

I used to have a 29G refugium with 10" play sand from home depot. I had a lot snails/worms there. Sean

We used be able to get cheap sand (play sand) from Home Depot, but it was a few years ago. It's from Carribean. Sean

It may or may not affect other Acros, depending on how bad the situation is. But it's treatable. Sean
