    External pump for 65 gallon system... Tarpon or snapper?

    either one of those pump is going to have to be dialed way back for a 55 (unless you have a massive sump that can handle that much flow properly) and in that case is a huge waste of electricity not to mention impractical. You should look for something much smaller. I know the ehiems can be run...

    These pics are less than impressive. The glass is dirty and there are tons of micro bubbles from my new skimmer breaking in, but you get the idea.

    I agree with the above statement. If you aren't dosing or adding calcium in any way though you may get some good results from it.

    I love the results I get from dosing 2 part. I second the need for testing; I say never dose what you can't test for. I know magnesium plays a heavy roll in the two part equation and depending on what system you are using you may need to dose that seperately.
