Algae

On Aug. 24th I just moved from a 55 gallon tank to a 90 gallon tank. Everything came over to the new tank plus the additional RO water. Now a few weeks later, I am starting to see some green and brown algae. My levels are as follows:

PH = 8.4
AMMONIA = 0
NITRITE = 0
NITRATE = 10 (MILLIGRAMS PER LITER)
ALKALINITY = 1.5 mEq/L (75ppm)

I could use some advice at this point as to how to control the green and brown algae. I have my lighting system (MH and blue attinics) on for 7 hours from 9am - 4pm.

Thank you for your help in advance!

do some waterchanges with good source water to remove the excess nutrients. this is what algae feeds on. the new surfaces will get covered with diatoms, it's inevitable, but the green algae i'm assuming is from upsetting the rock and such.

You basically set up a new tank so I think you might be going through a mini cycle with the algae. Couple water changes should help
