Anemone/SPS issue ... or non issue.

I have three redbubble tip anemones from Ralph's lineage.

One of the nems walks around the tank touching SPS and other corals everyonce in a while.

The thing is it's NOT killing my SPS. I know I should be happy about this but i'm a little confused (still happy, I guess)

I came home from work one night to see the Nem tickling one of my favorite SPS corals. I started to panic and poked him away from the coral. The next day nothing happened to the coral and I went to work to come home and he was doing it again. I poked again. Same thing the next day and the next, getting more and more tenticles to touch and eventually dance on the coral. Long story short, it's done it to 3 pieces of SPS and nothing has happened to any of them.

A little background on the Nem. I got it from Charlie, who got it from Ralph, which has maybe split a few time in his tank, who got it from where ever he gets them from and so on.

Do you think that because the nem is tank raised to the 5th power that it's sting is so little, he can't kill anymore... or is my theory ridiculous??

I would still think the sting is strong, but BTA stings aren't really that bad compared to some nems. I would be more worried if it was a Condy, frankly. BTAs seem to be the most "reef safe" anemone out of them all...

But who knows? My crayola acro's sting killed a nice chunk of a superman monti. Not all acros are that weak. Your acro might just be a strong species that can hold it's own. With that said, I still wouldn't want the BTA all over my SPS corals.

Sebae and BTAs have weak stings but both can still damage a coral. How big is it? I do believe sting is correlated to size.

When fully open, my big one is about 7" across .. that one brushes up against my 30,000 leagues Lokani.

One of my small ones is 4", fully open, that one touches a Tyree Undata.

And my smallest one is about 3", fully open, and that one touches a blue tip "something or other"

All the corals are really healthy. Great color. The Undata has great polyp extention. The Lokani (isn't really supposed to have polyps extension) has no polyps. And the blue tip which used to be a little fuzzy has no polyp extention.

I don't know .. just seems odd that the corals are just taking it and looking great.
