BRS mixing jug rust

I was adding Ca to the tank and the pump head bumped into the shelf when I picked it up, causing it to fall off. I went to place it back on, and caught discoloration inside the pump tube. Never would have thought....but makes sense. Container is less than a year old

Does the solution come in contact with the spring? I would think that it wouldn’t...

Yes it does and there is also a two metal balls. One located at the top of the spout and one at the top of the tube. The fluid passes through the spring area and the balls. All three have rust in the Ca bottle.

I checked the Alk bottle and there is no rust.
