CA Reactor & Effelut drip rate issue --HELP

As you can tell from some of my previous posts I have been trying to dial in my CA reactor for about a week and a half now. I was running the effluent to a cup out side of my tank just to get the alk/ph correct. The tube from the reactor to the cup was only about 8"(a drip rate of 40 per min) and now that the effluent ph/alk is what I want I ran the tube (about 18") around the back of the tank to my sump and my drip rate is now zero. Does the longer run effect the drip rate? Should I increase the rate ? I don't see any kinks? I just cant figure this out? Can anyone please help with this.

Your feed line might be clogged. 40 ml/min is a very low drip rate and there is a good chance it will clog often. If you want to maintain such a low drip rate without issues, I would recommend getting a peristaltic pump.

I guess I can increase the drip rate and then re calibrate the CO2 BPM

Re: CA Reactor & Effluent drip rate issue --HELP

I just changed all the tubes the drip started then it stopped and I can't get it going again!!!! I raised the CA reactor so it is above the sump and the drip would be going down hill but I still can't get my drip to stay on!!! I really need help please anyone with suggestions.

Thanks

they clog up very easily when pumping anything but water.....the diaphragm in them just cant last with salt water.

I had the same problem. I finally cut my check valve out and replaced it with a different one. It was the check valve for me.

You are talking about the valve on the effluent tube correct?

No my check valve on my co2, but i forgot, that caused my co2 to bubble too slowly. not water flow.
today i found that my effluent valve had been clogged with some crust internally. i think algae grew in my green tubing and let loose clogging. i switched to black. i use a aqualifter, it is just fine.
