Chalking

I need to water proof my return on my overflow and wanted to know what is a safe chalking to use?

You can get aquarium sealant from petco. Or GE silicone 1 from home depot. If you get the GE make sure it does not have the anti mold stuff in it. You can't use anything anti mold or bacteria just make sure it doesn't say anything on the tube

I would use caulking instead of chalking. Maybe hose clamps or pvc cement depending on what you are trying to seal. Nick is right with his silicone suggestions. Make sure you use aquarium safe of that GE I stuff without the anti mold in it.

Yeah the aquarium sealant is more expensive but I used it. I decided not to cheap out and figured with my luck I should use somethin that is meant for aquariums.

i did the same as Nick. i have plenty of different caulk tubes around but bought the aquarium stuff. it's worth the xtra few bucks for piece of mind.

Yup... that's one of the expenses I was glad to pay in this hobby. Minimal compared to the other stuff!
