Change in Chatroom Login for NJRC

Change in Chatroom login for NJRC
Jason had posted our chat meeting times on the NJRC calendar. He also made some adjustments to our chat forum. The upgrade evidentially was necessary as some were experiencing problems with entering the chat room.

The most noticable change is the way we log on. Please take a moment and log into the chat; this way you will be familar with how it works.

Also please let me know if you are experiencing any problems, this way I can let Jason know so he can make adjustments.

Thanks

Hope you guys all like it. NJRCbot will be in there all the time keeping an eye on things, and generating some pretty neat logs. Cheers!

I just went in to test, got in OK but had bad lag problem. Could it be I'm a Mac user? running Tiger.
I blame it 100% on your mac. ;D

What browser are you using? I've been testing with Firefox, not sure how Safari might do.

I miss the java-esque features where you could change colors and whatnot ::) Give in an inch and they want a mile! LOL!

Colors and emoticons should still work for you. :) You a palette should pop up if you click the '<<' button. Again, I've only tested strongly in Firefox 1.0.4.

Jason,

Thanks for responding,

I played with the colors and they do work as long as you hit the << top open. However once you type a line it defaults back to black.
Is there anyway once you change your color to have it stay that color?

Also is there a way to display the emotions like ;D  ??? ::) :-X, instead of having to type the them? How about sounds?

Thanks

Bob

I can't connect either. I'm using safari, ie explorer and tried ichat, and fire (irc client)

any info on how to connect to the irc to get to chat?

server name, channel name? ect....

I'm on a mac also... OS X panther

Damn, so many Mac users!

I've personally tested Firefox on the Mac, and it works well.

There is currently no externally accessible port for the IRC server, so iChat and other apps won't work. We may just roll back to the old system, it seems like fewer people had problems with that. :p
