Well i decided to dose my tank with chemi-clean. At first i was a little scared to add chemicals to my tank but once it was all said and done i am glad i did it. i followed the instructions on boyd's chemi-clean exactly. i turned off the skimmer, uv, and carbon. using an air pump i tied the output of the tubing to the input of my closed loop. this would suck up the air produced by the air pump and the pump would chop up the air bubbles into microbubles and spit them back out my closed loop/Sea Swirl system that i stole from steve68. i hooked up the air pump to my AC Jr. and programmed it to turn on every 15 minutes for 1 minute to oxygenate the water. the instructions say to put air stones in the tank but with a 210 gallon system i figured a couple air stones wouldn't do much. so here are the results:
Before:
24 Hours after dosing:
72 hours after dosing, 20% water change and all equipment turned back on for 24 hours:
Here is the oxygenation every 15 seconds for 1 minute:
nothing seems to have been disturbed by the entire process. here's hoping it doesn't come back which hopefully i've corrected the things that were wrong, ie water flow, extra nutriends, and old lights.
now onto the flatworms.......the saga continues
