... on sunday my mom had 2" on water on the basement and I had to leave for florida (training) so I had to leave her to deal with that crap....

My basement has 2 sump holes. I unplugged the one sump a few years ago because the hole dried up and I just left the pump in there to use as a back up for the other one if I ever need it. After reading Brian's trouble I think it's time I pull it out and make sure it isn't frozen up.

yeah, same here... i will need to check mine also...

hey, since now Brian is the Pump Defrozen expert, may be we should all bring ours to the monthly meeting for a DYI/self-check session on sump pump!
