Delaware Reef Club hosts Steven Pro

I would like to invite everyone to our monthly meeting on Monday March 15 at William Penn High School in Newark Delaware. We will have Steven Pro speaking for with us on a variety of possible topics. Steven is a hobby vetran and current VP of Sales with Ice Cap lighting. I will provide the general outline for our meetings and update with more details as i get them.

7:00 - 7:10 - Dinner and Introductions
7:10 - 7:25 - Virtual Tank Tour of The Month. VTTOTM is where a member presents his tank using a powerpoint template.
7:25 - 7:35 - VTTOTM Q&A
7:35 - 7:50 - DIY Technique
7:50 - 8:00 - DIY Technique Q&A
8:00 - 8:15 - Refreshments and Raffles
8:15 - 9:00 - Steven Pro

At every meeting we have a unique themed buffet style dinner. Last month was "Mexican Night" where we had hard and soft beef and chicken tacos and Spanish rice. I'm not 100% sure what we are doing this month but i think it will likely be "BBQ night". Raffles for each meeting always include at least 4 choice frags, 3 $25 sponsor gift certificate, and one large items that requires a "golden ticket". Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 with each $20 purchase receiving one golden ticket. The last two golden ticket raffles included a Typhoon 5 Stage RODI unit from Air Water and Ice and a 48" T5 retro light kit with reflectors, ballasts, endcaps, and harness from Reefgeek.

Here are two links to the meeting threads from January and February.

Steven has several prepared presentations he has offered to give and I'm sure he would be open to any other questions. The following are the topics he shared with me in an email.

So I touched it, now what? - Talks about all the things that could bite, sting, poison, envenomate, or otherwise hurt you in your aquarium.
Working in the Marine Ornamental Industry - Goes through all the different ways to make a living in this hobby.
Practical Advice on Marine Fish Ailments - Covers the most common problems of marine fish and their best treatment choices.

The address for those that plan to attend is:

William Penn High School
713 E. Basin Road
New Castle, DE 19720

If you know for sure you want to attend please email me at president@delreefclub.org. I just want to be sure that we have enough food for everyone in the case that we get a turnout larger than average. This is our regular monthly meeting so of course there is no charge and no need to be a DRC member. If you attend and want to show your appreciation then simply participate in our raffle!
