Digital PH tester

I'm considering buying a PH tester and I have been looking at several ones on Ebay. Does anyone have any suggestions about what to look for, which are no good, some say swimming pool, etc .....

I would put a PH TESTER into the categories of "Useless Equipment" and "Money Wasted". You have to keep them wet in order to keep the probe functional. You're going to need to calibrate it more frequenly and hope you don't let it go dry. I think I bought 2 of them before I gave up and got an aquacontroller. You could do a PH Meter as well for little more than it would cost you to buy a PH tester and then replace the probe.

I had a Hanna and I liked it... until it went dry for too long. Just in case you have your heart set on it and you can't be talked out of one.

Thanks Phyllis, thats the kind of answer I like, from true experience. My problem is I'm a gearhead, love my gadgets. For this one, I'm going to take your advice.

I have a Neptune AquaController II (go ahead and try to find one of these, lol) and an AquaController Jr. Of course I'd wait for the next PA group buy to pick it up!

Looks like the aquacontroller 3 has an embedded web server. If you hook this up to your home Net connection(say, via wireless router), you could monitor and control tank parmaters remotely. Most reviews seem good. Quite over-the-top for my current setup, but something to think of when I upgrade. Nice gadget to have to avoid having avoid sweaty palms during a vacation

Another weird thing is that the neptune system webiste and us share the same favicon logo. Unless they are some how affiliated with us, this is copyright infringement, isn't it?

You'd have better success looking on eBay for an old 2, but for most of our needs, a AC Jr would serve your needs just fine and you can pick one up in the PA group buy for a decent price, if you can wait until June.
