Fans

Hey My chiller just broke again. Never buying a jbj product again. ha ha. after 2 years owning it broke twice. I was looking at fans does any one now of any good ones and how to mount it. pics would help. I heard of a guy using the vornado clip on fan but I have a coraline fixture. with legs thanks

What size tank? Do you have a sump?...you could use the fan on your sump if you have one. Do you have an enclosed canopy? What lights?

If you have open tank top or sump, you could use one of those clip-ons from Walmart. If you have an enclosed canopy and wish to cool that, the computer type fans fit in nicely.

Interesting. I have a canopy as well as a sump. I want to install a fan in canopy to cool it. I have T5 lighting on 150 gallon tank.
To fit a computer fan I need to cut out a hole in the canopy I am guessing?
 
it s on a 150 gallon tank with halides on it. The lights are on legs so the top is open . Im using a wet dry system so I guess I could direct a fan in to that .

The 6" clip on fans work well for that.

Yes. If you are looking to cool the T5 bulbs you'll want either a push-pull setup or to have the fans blow on the bulb ends as opposed to the middle of the bulb. [/grim]
