Favia Mounting

I bought a piece of favia and put it on the sandbed and partially shadowed. It's doing great. Where do you mount your favia? What if I leave it on the sandbed will it form a skeleton on the sandbed?

I have the same question for Acans too. They do great on the sandbed.

Favias will grow and encrust so give them something to grow and encrust onto. Acans will grow and form their own skeleton but give them room. Sandbeds can be tough, becuase sand can cover and kill corals. I agree with dppitone, things glued onto the rocks will have a better chance to grown and encrust without getting knocked over and killed.
