Good bug or bad bug, that is the ?

Hi all! My husband and I are new to all of this. We are just starting our very first salt water tank. We just purchased our live rock and found this bug... Reef safe or pest?! I've gone to a few blogs to compare pictures but am not really sure. Thanks in advance!

Looks like maybe some kind of shrimp? Hard to really tell from the picture. I always go by the "when in doubt, take it out" motto.

The appears to be some type of isopod - can you get a closer look at the eyes? if they are big - it's a bad pest known as a cirolanid isopod. they will feast on any fish they can get a hold of. Do not put your bare hands in the tank before getting a good identification on that bug.
