Heater Placement?

Has anyone placed their heater in the corner overflow w/o a problem with the seal integrity? I'm concerned with placing it there and down the road face a seal failure. Any experience in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

face seal? i use marineland submersible and have one in each overflow with no problems. the only thing is that with no heaters in the main tank if you lose flow the tank could get cold. but you'll have warm overflows

Mine are in the overflows..never has an issue..only way I could see losing flow would be a power outage or a bad pump.

I'll place it in the overflow and a backup in the sump.
