how to plumb sump

Ive been searching all day about plumbing my sump up and not really had much luck. I have an oceanic 3 sump. It has two 1" outlets on one side, it came with a piece of glass that sits on top that has two 1" bulkheads in it and it has 1 baffle with a piece of foam on it that is about 10-12" away from the side that has the 1" inlets on the side. Basically there is a large part, the baffle and then a small part with the outlets. I am assuming that glass piece is just worthless unless I had that bio chamber option. Im guessing both of my overflow pipes would flow to the large area, the detritus would collect in there and the baffle would stop it, then the clean water would flow to the other side of the baffle and then exit the two 1" outlets. Am I right on this part? My question is how to I go to my protein skimmer? I have an MRC-2. I know that you would have a submersible pump flow the water into the injector of the skimmer but then where do I put the outlet? I have seen how in sump skimmers just dump the water right back in. Would I place the submersible pump such as a mag pump after the baffle in the sump, plumb the submersible to the skimmer, and then plumb the outlet of the skimmer to an external pump like a sequence pump?

I had a hard time finding pictures but it appears to me the glass piece with the bulkheads would be for the overflow piping. Something like that would be real handy if you were using flexible drain lines from the display. If anything the glass piece will cut down on the salt spray/creep from the drains. I would need a more detailed picture, bigger then the little one's online, to comment any further on the intake area. The two holes are most likely intended for a return pump and a skimmer feed or second return pump. I take it there was no suggested hook up diagrams included. The function of the baffle is to stop bubbles from getting to the return pump. If I was to set up a external skimmer, I would plumb it back to behind the baffle. Be sure to not install the skimmer outlet below the water line. That will affect the skimmer. Although, don't make the outlet pipe too high and create unnecessary bubbles.
