I can't decide I need some help!

I just bought a 150 gallon aggressive Fish Tank, and I also have a 55 gallon fish tank I want corals in my tank!!! I dont know what to do, should I get rid of my aggressive fish and put corals in my 150g or should i just put them in my 55g.
I have in my 150g Fish Tank
30" Zebra Eel
6" Black Hawaiian Trigger
5" King Angel
5" Neon Damsel
4" Huma Huma
3" Arch-Eye Hawkfish
I just added
6" Foxface
4" Whiteface Surgeonfish
4" Black and White Heniochus

I have in my 55g Fish Tank
2" Chrysiptera Damsels (2)
3" Percula Clown
2" Green Mandarin
5" Lunare Wrasse

What should I do?

welcome to njrc!

If money were not an issue - I'd get a third tank. ;)

If I had to choose, I'd keep the FOWLR tank because those guys deserve a nice big home - like a 150. While the 55 is difficult to aquascape because of the shallow front-to-back depth, I've seen some really nice tanks set up with a 55.

If I were going with a 3rd tank,, then first I'd sign up for membership in order to garner all the great discounts/group buys - and most importantly - supporting a club of people who have similar interests. Then call some of our sponsors for deals on tanks/equipment and/or check out the members-only for sale forum (besides the regular public fs/ft forum).

Good luck!

This is really a very personal matter. It all depends on what you want out of the hobby. So, spend some time thinking about what you want both tanks to be.

My choice, and I emphasize that this should not necessarily be you choice, would be to give away the aggressive fish to people that can provide good homes for them. The alternative would be to trade them to your LFS for corals and non-aggressive fish. Then I'd set up the harger tank as a reef with lots of corals, and reef safe fish. Expect to need some upgrades in the lighting area and possibly the filtration area.

I agree with the difficulty of aquascapeing a 55 gat tank. It can be done but it's really hard. My choice here would be unusual. I'd set it up as a FW planted tank. Tall plants are easily obtained, and can work wonders for the aquascapeing. Use few rocks.
