Lighting

Ok,
i want to set up a 75 gallon tank. I am trying to get opinions on lighting. I assume that eventually I would like some SPS. What size light would work on my 75? 30", 36 "? I already have a 250W PFO W 14K Phoenix, do i just get another or should I go with T5?

How long is your tank? I have a 90 with 2 175mh and 4 54 watt t5's

you could just get another pendant/ballast and then supplement with 2 or 4 actinic T5's. unless you want an all in one light fixture.

I personally like T5s although I do miss the shimmer a bit

To get the shimmer with T5 or VHO you can install a couple of LED spot lights. I bought 3 of these http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/alm.htm but never got them hooked up before I took my tank down.

I'd just get another 250 pendant. Nothing is as bright as Metal Halide. If you want to do more sps def go with the mh. Mixed reef with maybe a few sps all the way on top try the t-5's I'd Stick as many as you can over it
