LR Stolen!!!! $1000000.00!

just needed a couple pounds for my nano. sorry, ill put it back.

    holy smokes thats alot of rocks. imagine all the mantis shrimps on there.

He's quoted as saying the last time he checked on them was 18 months ago.

Well if I had $1,000,000 dollars worth of stuff - whether it's acres of corn or an acre of LR - I'd be guarding/checking on that stuff daily.

I mean - aren't there hurricanes that come thru Florida - wouldn't a hurricane displace LR? Obviously not all of it would go - but I'd head over there to check.

I'm sorry but the excuse that he had to take care of his parents - which I acknowledge is important - but surely ONE day could have been spared to go out and scuba dive in the course of 18 months.

EDIT - haha I just read the comments on that newspaper forum and pretty funny that there are other conspiracy theorists like me.

300,000 lbs of live rock is mentioned in the article.

That works out to 150 tons. If you had a modest truck that could haul 2 tons, you'd have to make 75 trips to haul it away.

I don't see how anyone could easily have done that with out being seen at some point. Remember it's not legal to harvest native Florida live rock.

Something about this story just doesn't add up.

Somethin just doesn't add up? He didn't check on an almost 200k investment for a year and a half? Come on I don't care how busy you are, the site was only a 4 mile boat trip away. And do the math.... If you had 4 divers bringing up 1500 lbs each a day (6000 lbs a day). Which I think is a very high estimate.... It would take them 50 days, almost 2 months to harvest the rock! Nobody noticed that much activity going on for that long so close to the shore and all the other aqua farms in the area? Somethin is up. Insurance scam or maybe the amount of rock is being exaggerated. Somethin
