Mag 7 power question

This weekend I hooked up a Mag 7 to a skimmer and it doesn't seem to be very weak. My question is do the magnets wear out over time on these pumps? Is it possible I just need a new impeller for it or are they just not all that powerful of pumps?

They do wear out. A grain of sand in them will cause burrs. Impellers are cheaper then buying a new pump.
