I'm thinking about getting rocks for the possible new setup I'd be getting. I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with Marco Rocks? I have alot of rocks in the current 30 G setup. I'd prob use them as base rock in the new tank. I'd have to say I have at least 80-90 lbs of rocks in the tank now? Just a guess bc most of them are big.

Great rock. As long as it isn't back ordered I'd go ahead and place an order. I think it is the best looking rock around. We replaced all of the rock we had in our 180 with Marco rock that we picked up at the swap last year.
We actually have close to 100# left over from that and breaking down our 65 that we're selling.

The benefit of getting established rock is not going through the cycle process and having an established colonies of coraline and pods. Long term? Not sure. I think long term you have a high likelihood of ending up at the same place (just vastly different timing). Though I suppose if you had rock that needed to be cured and you didn't remove the organics then you would have a base to feed algae off of later on down the road.

Buy Phyl and John's 65 with the rock in it.
) you get a lot of free hitchhikers, and we don't use up resources which is what Marco Rock is doing. I am sure Phyl and Johns rocks won't get thrown away but still conservation is good.
