MRC Nilsen Reactor Question

I bought this from someone on reefecentral. Since I'm not familiar with Nilsen Reactors I'm not sure if this is complete or is missing parts. I don't see a "stirrer" referred to in the directions. I was expecting to see a rotating bar of some sort but I don't see one. I'm kinda stressing that I may have been taken so please ease my fears :)

Some photos to help you:

Eric look at the button of the lid, you may find the stirrer there, or go to the website, they have and excellent costumer service

Here's a couple more shots:

I checked their website but I still could not determine if there is anything missing from the diagram. I tried calling MRC but he is gone for the day.

Thanks,

Eric

Eric why you don't turn it on and see what spins, and for all i can see you missing just some small piece of pvc

Gabe

Thanks for all the replies. It is a stirrer not a reactor so I'm guessing the little piece of pvc is the stirrer. I was under the impression it would have a bar stirring the kalk located at the bottom of the chamber. Thankfully the seller responded by saying that there is no bar with this model. The Nilsens with bars are more maintenance according to him.

I was making water anyway so I just ran the waste water to fill it. Never thought of just filling it :p I think I missed the initial stirring period when I first turned it on. I'll have to wait another hour before the next stirring.

Anticipation.....

Next showing is roughly just after 10 p.m. Man, if I get distracted and miss it... Must remain focused on chamber. And I thought staring at a fishless tank while it was cycling was a strange way to pass time.

Well, I felt the motor turn on and saw a very tiny tiny whirlpool effect occur near the motor so at least I know the motor operates. To say I was underwhelmed is an understatement. I was expecting to see more agitation. On top of it, my girlfriend is asking me "How much did you pay for that?" Sigh

I'm dragging it over to Tom's house tomorrow to see if he can give me a tutorial.

Eric i think thats is all is supposed to do, you only need the small tube of pvc so the water you feeding the reactors goes all the way to the button
Gabe
and just tell her that you got a good buy, thats what i always do

For those following along- it's finally working the way I had expected. Apparently air trapped within the motor really hinders the performance of this thing. The girlfriend- well she's fast asleep right now. But won't she be impressed to see how much labor this thing is going to save me.

"Best part dear, it was a steal." ;D
