Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime

Must be pickling season! LOL. Thanks for the heads up, Jim. We tried that and didn't like the color of it (!?) so we went back to using the ESV brand.

By definition, it's food-grade, so what's not to like. I may be a cheapskate reefer, but I have grown many pounds of acro and monti skeleton using only pickling lime (kinda weird when you think about it). I mostly used Ball's brand, though.

Hey, did you guys originally run a big ETSS skimmer on your system? Why'd you switch?

We ran Jeff's ETSS 1000, I think. Probably operator error, but I couldn't get it to skim for the life of me.

Ha Ha, mine now. I hope I can do better. I guess I can always fall back on my MRC2. What pump did you use?

We used an Iwaki 70. It went from free flowing to not skimming and back again with nothing in between (and sometimes without us touching anything). I just couldn't figure out how to dial it in. I'm sure there are more success stories than not with them, we just weren't one of them. We're running an MRC3R (I think).

I've been to the walmart in Newton, i'll go to the one in rockaway, which department would i find it in? I asked a few employees and they had no idea what i was talking about. Thanks -eric

It was on an endcap in the middle of the store, pointing towards the back of the store, more to the left side of the store than the right. It's with canning jars and picking salt, too. I hope that helps.
