Finally got my sand today- going to use a coating of crushed coral from an old tank and add the dry sand- the move is frustrating- I'm moving everything from a 30 gal hex to this tank and using the same 'stand'. got the in tank sump done- 3 chamber- foam media in first- second- I haven't decided yet- protein skimmer- chaeto, scrubber?- third ceramic discs and return- here's a pic of the filtration section so far- the return pump/ discs go to the section to the left- recommendations for what / which way i should go with the middle

Got some chaeto for the sump and added a skimmer- chaeto was mostly gone in a few days and the skimmer did nothing- guess it's still too new ( and clean)- also added a cuc with some hermits. Fish so far- a striped blenny, Rainford goby, 2 small watchman gobies ( added at different times- still working it out ) 2 chromis and a pink damsel. The 'ugly' diatom stage lasted a few days- I see some coralline algae and spirorbid worms- got pods in the sump and in the substrate

Love the aquascape!
Thanks! Mostly coral from a past life- I like that I was able to give the fish so much for caves etc- just have a hard time placing frags- not much level places. Also having a hard time finding the 'right' place for some frags- light/flow- polyps mostly

Here’s a couple small one is a port view from my laundry room

A few different leptos Freeze factor Jf Jack o lantern and a lethal lepto. Few different acans. Zoas, palys, montis. There is a plethora of different types of corals. Picked up quite a few from Danger Dave. He has an awesome selection.

While waiting for the waters to recede and thing to dry out I cut the hood/canopy 5 inches shorter ( why I didn't think of it for the initial build- old age maybe ) so the in tank sump is now outside and easier to get to/ maintain, and moved the light over to keep the light balanced. I moved the chaeto to the mid chamber and changed the overhead grow light to a submersible led strip light- more room for the chaeto and I can get to the filter media easier- added another power head but still not happy with flow- ordered some new heads- will come on Tuesday- will play with that when they get here
