New tank with Fuge questions

I am moving up from a 30 gallon cube to a 55 deep blue rimless, I never ran a fuge on my 30 gallon cube but on the 55 gallon I will run a fuge. My question is should I put miricle mud in the fuge? it is worth the cost. Also how deep should the sand be in the main tank, I was thinking of just an inch or so.

Thanks for your help.

I would say no. You need to replace miracle mud as well so it is not a one time thing.

You can put in as much sand as you like functionally and aesthetically. There are different schools of thought but no right or wrong answer.

I never used miracle mud so can't speak to that. I'm aware that you get the 10 pound bucket the first time and then a few times a year you add the less expensive "booster." You can read up about pros and cons of it on www.wetwebmedia.com.
