Not an emergency at all - Just trying to figure what the hell is going on

Hello

My semifasciatus anglefish(male) just **** what looks like a long white string material. I saw this on the back wall of the tank this morning and did not think anything of it. This evening i noticed this large white string coming out of the fishes bottom. Is this a worm of some sort?

On a unrelated note. I have a pair of pyramids. They are new additions to the tank. The fish looked like they might have some ich. Could not tell for sure but they definitely had a few white salt like dots on their bodies. I have been feeding Dr Gs anti parasite frozen food. The fish are eating. This morning i noticed one of the pyramids has popeye on one eye only. Since it is only one eye I am thinking most likely trauma. I am not sure. Tried to catch the fish to put in QT. Not an easy task by any means.

Can anyone offer some advice as to what the white stringy stuff coming out of the angelfish is? Also any info regarding what to do for popeye is appreciated.

White stingy poop is a sign of internal parasite. The semifascitus get that often and bladder infection is also very common. You need to get it out and treat with prazipro. For pop eye you need to QT also and treat with melafix.

Damm fish are so fast and tank is to deep. Really hard to net them. I might have to try a fish trap.
Thanks Sunny

Prazipro is reef safe. You can dose it in DT. If you have any fancy worms or feather dusters then take them out.

I have never dosed melafix in DT so cannot vouch for that.

I put the prazipro directly in my DT on the advice of Sunny. Corals were annoyed but seemed fine after a day. No ill effects, snails, crabs, corals were all fine. Fish were much more vibrant afterwards.

If you are close to aquatic obsessions or absolutely fish they have dr gs food which is medicated with praziquantel. This way you can treat the fish in your display without dumping praziquantel in.
