Pondering. End of an era?

So, was wandering around the pest tank this morning and pondering.
I have the ability to turn it into a nem tank, overflow, sump, the works.
This is a tough one.


* For those not in the know...
The pest tank is a 40g cube.
For every meet at my home any leftover or unidentifiable frags were thrown in over 8 years.
It has never had a water change.
It has never been tested for anything.
It has a heater, a LED, an ATO, and a hang on back filter.
The ATO is touchy, and sometime the water level drops considerably, I just dump a bunch of RODI in.
The media in the filter is occasionally changed if I remember, currently the filter is clogged with algae.
It is arguably the most undermined and ignored tank in the club.
It is thriving.

Wow thats pretty cool.

I have a 24 gallon tank that i nearly take the same approach too. I dont test. It has had 1 water change since October. The cheapest of cheap LED light on it and i top it off manually. Tank is doing well with a nem and random corals i that come my way i dont want in my main tank. It was a tank i wanted to put $0 into and so far i am meeting that goal. I just need a couple clowns for it.
