price on acrylic tank

Anyone know what a 1/2" thick acrylic tank, 72" length, 20" width, 24" tall would cost roughly? I have a good deal on one lined up I believe so just checking. I guess it's 150 gallons by those dimensions. Also I assume 1/2" thick is good enough for this tank? Thanks.

1/2" is plenty for that tank. My 300 was only 1/2" it was 8' x 2' x 30" high. Why acrylic though? Glass would be cheaper. Probably even with starphire. I would't use acrylic unless you were goin over 300gal

Acrylic tanks are very hard to maintain they get scracthed just looking at them. Then have to be buffed outsave your money unless its going to be a frag tank.

My 150 is 72X18X29. If the tank is 24 high it is most likely 125 gallon.

Maybe the extra 2 inches makes it 150 ...

I just figured 150 from garf's website plugging in the #'s. I'm getting the tank for free. Where I work has a marine display and is upgrading it so they're giving me the tank. I know the tank held water for a few years until it was just recently taken down. It's very hard to tell the condition of it as far as scratches and such go because it's pretty dirty & covered in salt. Also comparing it to tanks for sale online it appears to be a custom made, home made thing, the center top brace is interesting. Initially I asked the cost because I don't want to spend a ton of time & money on trying to fix it up if it isn't worth it. Someone did send me a good article on acrylic tanks & crazing. www.wetwebmedia.com/acrylicaqrepair.htm so I plan to get the tank, post picts of it and see what people think as far as the bracing. It would be setup in a finished basement, I don't need a 150 gallon failure. I'm taking the tank either way, if it's to scratched maybe I'll use it as a sump for a future tank, worse case I end up w/ alot of 1/2" acrylic to play around making things with. Picking it up tomorrow so I'll try and post a picture of it dirty just to show the brace & hopefully this weekend I can clean it up good.
