protein skimmer and current?

im getting a remora next week and im a newbie. Do protein skimmers also create some current in your aquarium? I have a 29g Nano and the pump is a MJ 1200.

not really. there will be water pouring out of the exhaust port of the skimmer, but it's not coming out with any sort of velocity.
