Protein skimmer making no bubbles

I have a Marineland's Marine Pro protein skimmer it is an in sump skimmer. The system is not making any bubbles i have no clue what to do i keep adjusting the knob that controls the air intake and nothing is working? anyone have any experience with this unit?

is the pump pumping water?...if so then you have to check the whole venturi intake parts to see if something is clogging the air
