Does anyone know how the MJ1200 pump is supposed to be oriented in the preskimmer box?

I purchased one the other day and tried like hell to get the pump to fit but it wont.

According to the website, I have the correct size & measurement box for the pump I am using.

Anyone?

You may need to turn the pump 180 degrees. Also, the preskimmer box contains two chambers, one is where the pump goes in, the other is where the output from the skimmer goes. This is suposed to act like a bubble trap.

The exact height and location of the preskimmer box is set by the two thumb screws on the front of the box.

After all that, sometimes the the best solution is to just not use it. I use mine, but I think the effect is only marginal.
