Removing MH bulbs

We have a 250 double ended MH pendant and are trying to take out the bulbs. We cannot figure out how to do this. Is there a trick or are we just that mechanically disinclined? Can someone out of the kindness of their hearts please help us out with this.

DE bulbs are really held in tight by their "socket".

Get a thick cloth terry towel, and fold into several layers. Then grab the bulb in the center and pull straight out. You may need to pull hard, and the towel protects your hand, just in case you break the bulb.

Replacement is just the opposite. Grab the bulb with the towel and push in hard. Be very careful with this. Push evenly. Do not push too far. Breaking the new bulb will cost you a lot of money.

Note that DE bulbs have a top and bottom. Note how the end connectors are constructed. The "knife" edge goes into the socket.

Thank you so much we replaced the bulb and the new one turned on. I did not realize you had to be so forceful with those bulbs and thank god for my fiances skinny finger to get behind it. Thanks again.
