response to re blange3

hey thanks for replying
im not shure approx 70lbs of fiji what ever the most is for a 55gal. It's the rock in the tank, what's in the sump & cannister I bought saturday Tonga branch from fishtails.
livestock-- two blue Chromis bought sunday . my parameters as we speak are ok accept for my nitrate is to high. & calcium is to low 345ppm ready to do a water change now. hope to here soon thanks

So as long as your ammonia and nitrites are OK I'm sure your rock is live and the nitrates are being happily consumed by the stringy slime!

What is the PH? If you use Kalkwasser to raise the calcium, you will probably raise the ph and a higher ph can reduce some of the slime, depending on what it is. You can also increase the flow in the 55 and add some macro algae to the tank or sump to compete with what sounds likes some hair algae.

You should get things stabilized before you add anymore livestock as well.

Hope this is helpful!
