Beautiful pictures. I LOVE the Orange-Wing Amazon. ;D A fellow bird lover, just awesome. We have 2 Amazons ourselves, a Yellow Nape and a Double-Yellow Head.

Wendy,

I must say your are a bird lover :D you are the 1st person to ever say sonny is an Orange wing and is 100% . Everyone else has there own opinion lol But who am i to argue with them/stranger about what type of bird i have LOL

Great selection of Amazon you have. I wish i had the room for more. I have an African grey as well. She live by my moms place. Sonny is a ham. He love to go out and be with everyone, But doesnt like to be touched by strangers(i dont blame them)

Hi Ronen,

;D Calling me a bit obsessed with birds would be an accurate statement. ;D

I think it is VERY obvious that Sonny is an Orange Wing. His head markings are a dead give away, and I even see the outlined orange, yellow and blue in his wing. How old is he? Nope, can't blame him for not wanting to be touched by strangers, mine don't like that either. In fact my 8-year old Yellow Nape is scared of strangers ever since she had to have surgery and was a bit "manhandled" by the avian vet. But she's the biggest love with all of us. Quincy, my DYH, is as hornery as they come. He's only 3, but boy he comes with an attitude. I've raised both of them, and could never imagine being without them.

Sorry for the hijack. GORGEOUS corals, too. ;)

No hijacking at all. Its a Photo thread :D and we all have reefs ,but Sonny always take all the attention from everyone. Ppl never ask how im doing 1st ,they ask ,Hey where is your bird ? or how is sonny? LOL Im sure you know wht i mean ;)

Sonny is 5 year young. He is the talk of the ave in the summer. He is always outside in the summer time. Just hang in his perch or on me. Today we went to the park and had breakfast, Yes he eat my food arrg lol (eggwhites and starbucks) then come home and eats his food. Funny thng Sonny basically eats everything. atleast anything that hit my plate.

Most ppl dont see past his markings, the just assume that he is blue front. some breeder or thats what he claimed to be at the time said sonny was a hybrid of 2 amazons, That conversation was over in a sec as i had no intention of debating that comment lol

Here is a pic of Sonny taken by a very good photographer( a pro) and a bit photoshop to trim the pic. I

What a beautiful picture of him. WOW!

I hear you about the people food. Both of mine are spoiled rotten. Their diet consists of 40% fruit and raw veggies, 40% home-cooked diet (noodles, rice, mixed veggies, mixed beans, etc.), and 20% seeds and pellets. Their favorite "treat" is a cooked chicken bone and/or hot wings. Hunter, my YN also loves cheese, but I only give her small pieces.

Here are pics of my 2. Hope you don't mind. :-[

WOW they are sweet :-* I have to come visit with Sonny one day. Wonder how he would act in front of amazons. He pays no attention to Coco ( my grey) at all. Actually the second sonny gets to Cocos cage, Sonny head right for Cocos food LOL

The one thing i love about amazons, Is that they are very affectionate birds. Sonnys diet, Fresh fruits and veggies in the morning along with avicakes and nurtiberries. then if he gos out with me for breakfast. He gets eggs whites with cheese and starbucks ice coffee ( he eats most of my sandwich )lol he also likes ,chicken.steak ,rice ,pastas )all of them) bread , crackers hmm i think just about anything he is allowed to eat will go his beak ::)
Coco on the other hand is a very very picky eatter, She will throw out anything she doesnt like out of her dish. And doesnt like to much human either, go figure.

If anyone else has pics of their bird ,please post them. Ide love to see their pics :D

here is Sonny protecting the aussie shipment

Sonny sure looks like he means business with that shank. Or maybe he's just picking the egg whites from breakfast from his beak.

Beautiful birds....thanks for sharing.

Thanks Rich

If you ever catch me cutting any food with that knife ,you can use on me lol ,yuk did you take a good look at that knife. Its use to chop away blocks of frozen food. Sonny happen to go in the sink area and took the knife .Now one thing i can tell you . Never argue with an amazon holding a shank LMAO ;D

I see you got the lens .. Congrats and Sonny is one good looking bird better than the owner lol... Pics came out nice and sharp!.. good job Ro!

Reef,,,trust me ,If you ever got to stay around sonny one day , He will have you in tears. THis bird has a cool personality and is very social, Best part ,if sonnyis hanging uot with me and a few friends, Ever time we laugh Sonny will laugh with us, which makes everyone keep laughing ,, He Just doesnt like to be touched lol (see pc with shank LMAO jking)

I just cracked up when I read that Sonny laughs when you start laughing. Both of mine do the same thing, unfortunately they laugh like me. People always ask "Do they talk?" I tell them that they do, and quite a bit for that matter, but they're usually shy around strangers and won't utter a word. Another thing they do is as soon as someone comes in the front door they yell: "HELLO, HI". Same when the phone rings. Quincy has entire conversations with himself, and out of the blue he'll go: "Want to come out?" Yes, Amazons' personalities are the best, IMO. Sort of match mine - unpredictable. ;D

PS. Ronen, it would be awesome if you came and visited with Sonny. :)

hahha thata funny , Coco as well has a conversation by her self. And she move her leg around as if she was make hand motions. Her vocba is amazing but it can be better if she lived with me, I have no space in my apt for both Sonny and Coco and 2 fish tanks.

Sonny doesnt say much really, only few words - Hello- WOW - Ouch And mubbles (I love you) But he does like to make lots of sounds. Wish he spoke a bit more.Buti love him just as much . Maybe he would give some good advise he he ID speak lol

THe best i very heard for ppl(more then one) was , and yes they did ask this question --Is " IS HE REALY? " LMAO i reply with ,No, I need to match the baterries and replace them LOL OLOLOLOL

Come on now ,are these ppl for realy!!! What would a man age 36 walk around with a stuffed parrot with batteries, lol

ROFLMAO. Is he real? That's hilarious. OMG - don't you just want to smack some people?

Ok, here are 3 bird pics. They're not my birds, they belong to the state of New Jersey ;), but I'm currently rehabilitating/raising them. They've been in my care since 7/4, and they're a lot of work. They're Blue Jay chicks, approximately 4 days apart. There was a third baby, but it was killed by a predator. :(
