Some shots

After listening to Phyl's Tips and Tricks for photography on Sunday, I decided to take some pictures last night before the lights went out. Not too bad. A little grainy though.

They don't look grainy here. Maybe a tad bit dark. I think the first one would have been better off portrait rather than landscape and the blurry bit of cap above the subject is a little distracting. Would be better to crop off the distraction.

The others look cool. Were these actinic only? The fluorescence is cool.

That first one you could reduce the depth of field (lower FStop) on with actinics only to increase the amount of light. The rocks in the background would be good to be a bit blurrier without adversely affecting the coral itself.

In the second two photos, try moving the snail shells out from in front of those corals for a "cleaner" image and better focus on the subject. My eye is drawn to them looking for what they would contribute to the photo, but the blurriness causes distraction rather than enhancement.

I look forward to seeing what your next try brings! Be sure to save the best ones for the photo contest! ;D
