I am losing a ton of water daily on my 120 FOWLR. I would like to place a piece of perforated Plexiglass on the top of the tank. I am using PC lighting so it should not hinder the lighting that much. Can I use a solid piece of Plexiglass or will it compromise oxygenation? Any suggestions?

I wouldn't use a solid piece the tank is gonne bake and the plexi will probably be covered with humidity drops constantly and not let your light pass through as well. How much water do you lose a day?

How much lighting do you have? Your probably losing more from the water flow in your sump than the tank itself. But 2 gallons a day isn't crazy, i lost 1 1/2 - 2 gallons a day in my 120 reef. just get an ato so you don't have to worry about topping it off everyday

I lose close to a gallon a day on my 55 so two gallons sounds normal for a 120. I really feel auto top-offs are a must for any SW setup because adding anything on a daily basis is going to get old real fast. Not to mention what to do when you need to be away from the tank for several days/weeks.
