testing alk in effluent drip????

I just installed a Korallin CA reactor and I want to test my effluent to ensure my ALK level in the reactor is set correctly. I am using a Salifert test kit which says to add 4ml of water of for the test. The test only measures up to 16dkh I need to test to 25 or 30 dkh?

Thanks

The simple way to solve this problem is to dilute your water sample with pure water (distilled or RO/DI) to extend the range of the test kit.

For example, the test kit you have only goes to 16dkh. You want to go much higher.

You add 8ml of RO/DI water to you 4ml sample. Then mix well, and use 4ml of that water to do your test. Take the result you got and multiply by 3. This will give you the reading for the original sample.
