Tons of sponges, sponges sponges everywhere!

I must have over a thousand sponges in my sump. They are little white ones from 1/8" - 1/2" in size. Should I leave them be or clean them out with the next water change? Do they do any good for your tank? Any harm?

They are good....Sign of a good system. Not positive but I think they can help as a filter feeder. I would leave them alone....

i think someone saw them in my tank and called them ball?? sponges. i was told their good, and to leave em alone

I had them in my last sump too. Someone said they might be pineapple sponges? I guess leave it be and let nature take it's course

I also had a ton of these the first few months or so of my setup. they gradually died off.
