is it important... to have one in your tank. i have 3 circulation pumps in my 30 gallon tank. but they are fixed and provide a current in the same direction all the time....

what are others doig...
btw. i keep softies only. some shrooms, zoos and leathe and polyps.

Personally- I'd love one like the tunze 6212. Not because I think it's required -but because I think it would be neat. But if you're talking about a multi-controller like the tunze 7095, - it's not necessary -though again I will likely set up my tank with one. I just wish I was ready to go when sgarron sold his kit. Oh well.

Anyways - all things being equal, I'd rather see someone spend money on another PH to get adequate circulation rather than on a wavemaker.
