Well Water

Unlike many here in NJ.. i do not have a city water supply. Is anyone here useing a well as there water source and what problems have you experianced.
I live in Hunterdon CTY my well is 530ft deep.. im thinking i should begin by chking Phospates, nitrates, hardness.. ect.. any other suggestions?

I use well water down here in southern NJ. While you do not have to deal with things like chlorine and other water treatment chemicals, you often have to contend with mineral traces, nitrates, phosphates, and other pollutants. Checking for all of those parameters you listed will probably not give you an accurate picture of what you are placing in your tank.

I checked the TDS (total dissolved solids) on my well water and found it to be through the roof (actually made me install a water softener and whole house filter after some of the test readings I got!). An RO/DI unit and a sink faucet attachment solved the problem. It's a rather inexpensive investment in my opinion.
