where do i put my HQI ballast ?

Where do I place my HQI ballast? Can I mount it to my wooden stand? Should I let it sit on the floor away from the Aquarium? What do you guys do?

Try to mount it away from your tank or above your hood so the heat don't transfer to your tank

hah i think any metal halide ballast or ho ballast gets hot- i used to have mine sitting in a circuit box- i had really old ones that i sticked my finger in the magentic coils one time and got a 250 watt shocki it was an intersting felling
