My tank is only a 120. Yes, there is a lot of rock. The recliner I sit in every evening is right next to the tank and I'm staring at it frequently. Tonight I noticed my red coris wrasse was flying through the water chasing something ... no big deal except it was constant. Then I saw it...
Tank is 120 and this overflow is not easy to reach. It's 2' down. I can see it near the bottom but the only net have that fits down there, even with a makeshift handle extended I still can't reach it or catch it. I have the returns out of the filter cups just in case, but any suggestions? Thanks
Everything seems happy but I continue to lose the algae battle, likely because while I have a magnus curve 5 I don't run it. Instead I use filter cups with coarse and medium that gets replaced every week. Any suggestions besides using a skimmer - I just have never had success dialing them in.
I know many have seen this stuff happen before but last night it was pretty cool. Had the whole family around the tank watching one of the RBTAs split. Was cool to watch nature do it's thing.
Mounting over a 24x24x48 120g tank with mainly anenomes and a few softies. Just got 2 of them today. How far above the water level would you suggest? Thanks, just hoping the mobius app is better than the my ai app lol.
Is Alex gone and are we truly down to just absolutely fish in clifton? Asking because I went to ocean gallery for the first time in about a year and man their stock is like non-existent. It was like gamestop before reddit lol. Thanks
I have a trumpet coral that I need to move tonight or tomorrow. Problem is it's glued onto the rock it's on. I need to move it further from an anemone but the problem is the nem is now anchoring to the same rock so I have to somehow get the trumpet off.
Thoughts? Thanks
I've had the same Eheim 1260 for about 6 years now, and today is the first time I've touched it since I put it in. :apologetic: . I swapped out sumps and decided to take it apart and clean it. I didn't take out the impeller or even the rod (not sure what it's called). Just the External...
For the most part I thought it was doing ok. It seems to be plumping up, however, there are a few heads on the side that seem droopy and not doing well. Is it doing ok? Is it possible for part of the coral to be doing really well and some really poorly?
Thanks
Anyone know what this orange stuff is that's showing up in my tank? It's on the frogspawn rock, and it's a few other places in the tank. I have never seen it before and it seems to be spreading.
Thanks
I think we finalized our list, including the order. Think this is too much fish for a 120 with a 40 sump? Does the order make sense?
1 Pinkbar Goby (in there now)
2 Ocellaris Clownfish
1 Yellow Tang
5 Blue Green Chromis
2 Cardinals
1 Orange Hooded Wrasse
1 Yellow Coris Wrasse

I have a check valve just upline from my return pump, but it's shot and no longer functioning (think they have springs in them so maybe it's worn out). Do most of you use check valves or just regular ball valves? Again, this is between the return pump to the main display tank so that in case...
Anthias look great, but I know I'm not up for feeding them 3x a day. So I'm looking for other options of schooling fish. Granted there won't be any predators in the 120g, but I'm looking at other options. Here's the stocking plan as of now:
2 ocellaris or maybe percula if I can't find the...
This is for a 120g. Looking for an in-sump skimmer. Sump is only 11" front to back and water level is normally 8.5-10" deep. I need something easy to use, but most importantly, I hate noise. So I want it to be quiet if possible. Was looking at reef octopus but they have so many....

Some of you know, from reading the fish forum, that I took out my 5 fish, Vlamingi Tang, Bird Wrasse, Dogface Puffer, Ocellaris, and Junior Emporata. Tank is a 120 and after moping for several years after Sandy, I want to go back to reef. To get the fish out, I had to take out all of the rock...
