Is my sump big enough

So I recently pick up a 200g tank to upgrade from a 90g.
My 90g originally had a DIY 20g sump but I purchased a custom 40ish gallon sump for it this year.

My question is this, is the 40g sump big enough?
The sump was built with 2 1inch drains.
Some of the equipment I'll be using in it.
Vectra L1 return pump, 1kw heater,
I have a deltec internal skimmer rated for 250g that was for the 90g but I picked up a External MRC mr4 to use with the 200g tank.

I use a 40g for my 200g system. It kind of depending on the plumbing. My Herbie system has more backflow when the pump is turned off compare to the a durso system.

So assuming you do not have anything else in the sump it depends on whether your sump can handle the backflow when the pump is turned off.

When the pump is running the water level will be at the highest baffle. Yours are a little high. You have to give it a try and see how high the water level is when the pump is turned off. I think it should be ok.

Glad to here you are using a 40g on a 200g, I'll be using standard durso drains in each corner.
The sump measure 40x16x16 iirc and the last baffle is ~8" high, so I'm guesstimating approx 60% volume will be in use.
I plan to use the marinepure biofilter spheres in the center section under the algae scrubber.
The sump was designed for a internal skimmer in the last chamber but I'll be using an external skimmer with this larger tank, I may just use that section for heater, probes, and return section from the skimmer/reactors coming off the manifold.
